Iran will add as many as 90,000 barrels to its daily oil output in near future when North Yaran and North Azadegan Phase 1 come on stream, the country's Deputy Oil Minister Roknoddin Javadi said.

He said that according to the Sixth Development Plan, Iran is going to boost its oil and gas condensates output by 1.7 million barrels, gaining a total of 5.7 million barrels a day, Mehr news agency reported January 23.

The Six Development Plan outlines Iran's national development perspective of five years.

According to Javadi, the most important projects of the Oil Ministry in the post-sanctions era are to develop the South Pars fields as well as fields to the west of the Karoun river in the country's Khuzestan province.

He pointed out that developmental wok on North Yaran is 80 percent through and the field will come on stream by March.

By prematurely tapping North Yaran, 15,000 barrels of crude oil are expected to be produced every day, he noted.

West Karoun oilfields are associated with Iraq in southwest of the country.

The oilfields are currently producing 300,000 barrels per day. The production capacity is scheduled to reach 1.4 million barrels per day by 2021.

South Azadegan oilfield, which is the largest field in the West Karoun region, will produce 600,000 barrels of oil per day.

South Azadegan, North Azadegan, Yadavaran, North Yaran, and South Yaran oilfields are located in the region.
