Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif requested to meet his Saudi Arabian counterpart in New York, but the latter showed indifference and refused the request.

Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Ali Jannati said that on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Zarif requested to discuss the latest situation with his Saudi counterpart after the Hajj tragedy, but the Saudi minister coldly refused the request, Iran's Mehr news agency reported Sept. 27.

He added that the Saudi government hasn't issued visas for an Iranian delegation's travel to that country to follow up the tragedy.

However, only Iranian Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi got the permit to travel to Saudi Arabia, he noted.

No diplomat killed

Jannati added that 80 Iranian pilgrims have been injured, of them only 15 need further medication and the rest will be released from hospitals today.

Iran's ex-ambassador among missing people

Iran's former ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi is among the missing pilgrims, Jannati said, noting that the situation with regard to the missing pilgrims will be announced over the next three days.
