The process of presidential elections in Azerbaijan goes on quite interestingly and in accordance with the law, the Deputy Speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Bahar Muradova told Trend on Thursday.
"The registered candidates are already known, as well as the persons who will not be candidates are being defined. The correlation of forces in electoral process, participants' abilities and the contours of relations to them are being defined. The processes developing to date indicate that the elections will be stable and transparent," she said.
The presidential elections that will be held this year will be another step forward, Deputy Speaker added.
"Voting right and the right to be elected of each citizen, living in the democratic society are protected equally, conditions have been created for free expression of citizens' will," Muradova underscored.
The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on October 9.
The previous presidential elections were held on October 15, 2008.
Azerbaijan holds presidential elections every five years.
