People who want to communicate through social networks have mental problems, Azerbaijani Chief Psychiatrist Garay Geraybeyli told Trend.

"People who prefer to communicate in social networks avoid real-life communication," he said.

He advised people to pay more attention to real-life communication, adding that people who use social networks less have fewer psychological problems.
"Social networks, the Internet, and talking over phone cannot replace direct communication," he said. "People who prefer virtual relations have problems with real-life conversation. They do not have a sufficient vocabulary. They have problems with their speech. Many people come to me with these problems. I know a boy who communicated with a girl over the Internet for two years. But when he met her, he had nothing to talk about. They began to avoid each other. The result is mental problems."
