Iran's Ambassador to Syria Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani highlighted Iran's commitment to support the Syrian nation and help them meet their essential needs, IRNA reported.
In a meeting with the Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham, he described implementation of President Bashar Assad's initiative as a major step in line with the country's national unity.
Laham, for his part, appreciated Iran's support for Syria and dispatch of humanitarian aid.
He presented a report on Syrian parliament's activities to start political dialogue between the government and opposition groups.
Underscoring the solidarity between the Syrians and the army against the terrorist groups, he added that recent victories originated from national solidarity.
National reconciliation and solidarity will help establish peace and stability for the onset of political talks, Laham noted.
Iran's envoy and Laham also discussed the latest developments in Syria and parliamentary ties between the two states.
