The Georgian Parliament has adopted amendments to the law 'On Pensions' in its first reading on Tuesday evening, according to which age pensioners aged over 67 years will receive an increased pension from Sept.1.
Seventy MPs unanimously voted for the adoption of the amendments.
In accordance with amendments to the law, the term 'pension package' is to be introduced and as from Sept.1, 2012 pensioners will also receive insurance policies.
In particular, those older than 67 years will receive a pension package worth 140 lari ($1 = 1.65 lari), which will include a policy worth 15 lari.
