The chief of Adjara's Revenue Service Gia Emiridze was arrested today.
The Revenue Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry told media that the detainee was transferred to the Batumi building of the Constitutional Security Department of the Georgian Interior Ministry.
According to Georgian media, he was arrested for taking a bribe. But this information was neither confirmed nor denied by the Finance Ministry.
Gia Emiridze was appointed as Chief of Adjara's Revenue Service upon Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri's order in November 2012.
