Georgian Department of Roads and Chinese company 'China Railway 23rd' signed an agreement on construction of the fourth lot of the Samtredia-Grigoleti motorway.

The document was signed by the chairman of the Department of Roads, Vaja Panchulidze and the director of the Chinese company, Xiu Mingsin.

The project is designed for 24 months, and it costs 113 million GEL (around $60 million)

European Investment Bank acts as a donor.

The agreement stipulates the construction of a two-lane 9.5-kilometer asphaltic concrete stretch.

Under the document, some 80 percent of workers in the construction should be the local population.
