Azerbaijan connects one more telecommunication hub to 'Trans-Asia-Europe' segment

Aztelekom Production Unit of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan connects Neftchala telecommunications hub to the fiber optic segment "Trans-Asia-Europe" (TAE), the Ministry said on Tuesday.
According to information, connecting Neftchala telecommunication hub is envisaged in the direction of the Salyan district.
Currently part of work planned in this regard has been completed.
The implementation of the TAE project was agreed by a tripartite protocol signed Oct. 21, 1999 between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
Commissioning the fiber-optic backbone has enabled to establish a direct connection between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Iran, Russia and Ukraine.
The capacity of Internet access, quality of communication have improved in the regions that have been connected to TAE.
