People cut off from outside world due to flood in north of Azerbaijan are evacuated (UPDATE)

A road leading to the Istisu sanatorium located on the border of the two northern regions of Azerbaijan - Guba and Shabran, was closed as a result of the flood in the Gilgilchay River, Guba Region Executive Power told Trend.

A road leading to the Istisu sanatorium located on the border of the two northern regions of Azerbaijan - Guba and Shabran, was closed as a result of the flood in the Gilgilchay River, Guba Region Executive Power told Trend.

As a result, more than 120 people, resting in the sanatorium, are cut off from the outside world already for two days.

Those resting in the sanatorium only on Sunday morning informed their families about the incident, who in turn appealed to Azerbaijan's Emergency Situations Ministry.

As it was told from Executive Power, the Emergency Situations Ministry's rescuers had evacuated all people from Istisu sanatorium.

Several roads of Shabran situated in the same area with Ilisu are also closed. Rescuers had finished evacuation of people from these places.

Guba region is located about 170 kilometers north of the capital Baku.
