Azerbaijan, Baku, August 18 / Trend , V.Zhavoronkova /

Despite the planned reforms in the structure of the United People's Movement (UPM) of Kyrgyzstan, the opposition will unlikely significantly strengthen, said Kyrgyz expert Orozbek Moldaliyev.

On Monday the opposition in Kyrgyzstan decided to create a new course, for the development of which was established a working group consisting of seven people, Fergana.Ru reported. The group is chaired by the chief of staff of UPM Azimbek Beknazarov. The new program should be developed within fifteen days.

It is possible that UPM, in which the opposition of the country united in the end of last year, will be transformed into a mega-opposition party, backbone of which will be created by Ata-Meken and Social Democratic parties, led by Omurbek Tekebaev and Almazbek Atambaev respectively.

At a meeting the leaders of these parties said that they think about unification. After approval of the new status of UPM, the opposition intends to elect a formal leader.

"The opposition made similar statements before that there is a need to unite, to be reformed, to develop a new program, but later the work was not implemented," said Moldaliev.

According to expert, the problem of opposition is that in their ranks there are no new people, new leaders.
"They [the opposition], of course, can say something to correct their mistakes during the presidential election, but there is no hope that they will change anything," Moldaliev told Trend by telephone from Bishkek.

During presidential elections on 23 July, the opposition nominated a single candidate Almazbek Atambayev. According to official data, he gained just over 8 percent of the votes that can not be considered a good result.

Every leader of the opposition parties sees himself as the single leader of all opposition, Moldaliev said.

"However, they look like each other, there is not a leader not only in national, but also in the regional scale," said Moldaliev.

According to the expert, they are leaders of the same parties established by them, but they do not use support of the population, this is their problem.

"They have to think not only about their program and plan of activities, they should work with the electorate, to enter into their needs and acquire supporters," said the expert.
