Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 22 / Trend R.Hafizoglu /
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated that there is no flag problem between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan and Turkey do not have a flag problem. The Azerbaijani flag is as dear for Turkey and the Turkish people as the Turkish flag, Davutoglu told journalists in Baku.
During the Turkey-Armenia football match in Bursa, which took place on Oct. 14, the Azerbaijani flag was taken away from fans. Due to the incident on Oct. 15, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry submitted a protest to the Turkish Embassy.
The Turkish flags were removed from the Martyr's Alley under the Azerbaijani legislation.
The Azerbaijani flag will be waving in Turkey as it was earlier, the minister added.
Turkey has the law on flag, but the Azerbaijani flag is waving in Turkey because it is not foreign flag for Turkey, Davutoglu added.
Regarding the disrespect against the Azerbaijani flag in Bursa, the minister said there are forces intending to damage the Turkey-Azerbaijan relations.
This is their provocation. Some media outlets willingly exaggerate the incident. Turkey does not have litter-bins with the word WC. Turkey inspects this attentively and Turkey will inform Azerbaijan as soon as it completes the inspection, the minister said.
FIFA have put ban on the Azerbaijani flag during the Turkey-Armenia football match. No one from the Turkish authorities appealed FIFA to put this ban, Davutoglu said.
