Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov signed a number of resolutions concerning personnel changes in the leadership of the national television channels, the Turkmen governmental press service reported.
Under the decree, Deputy Culture and Broadcasting Minister Aymuhammet Orazmukhammedov was dismissed from his position as he failed to cope with the responsibilities assigned to him.
Byagul Nurmiradova was appointed Deputy Culture and Broadcasting Minister. Earlier, Nurmiradova headed the Miras television channel. This channel is now headed by Chari Bayramguliyev.
Under another decree, Yusup Bayramov was appointed Turkmen Ovasi television channel head. Bayramov replaced Mekan Komekov, who was discharged from this position for serious shortcomings in the work.
Berdimuhammedov expressed criticism over the shortcomings in the organization of the Culture and Broadcasting Ministry's activities.
Berdimuhammedov believes programs broadcasted on the television channels do not conform to the required quality and artistic level that do not meet the spiritual needs of society and its growing cultural needs, characteristics of the national ethics and aesthetics.
The Turkmen leader instructed to take "immediate measures" to enhance their artistic and meaningful level.
