Azerbaijani MPs to attend OSCE PA summer session

A group of MPs, headed by the deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to OSCE PA, Bahar Muradova, will take part in the XXI Summer session of the organization, which will begin on July 3 in Monaco-Ville, the parliament told Trend on Monday.

A group of MPs, headed by the deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to OSCE PA, Bahar Muradova, will take part in the XXI Summer session of the organization, which will begin on July 3 in Monaco-Ville, the parliament told Trend on Monday.

The delegation includes the chairmen of parliamentary committees Eldar Ibrahimov, Rabiyat Aslanova, MPs Fatah Heydarov, Aghalar Veliyev and Azay Guliyev.

The session will hear presentations on " OSCE: a changing region." OSCE chairman-in-office Eamon Gilmore, the chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthimiou and other officials are expected to speak at the session.

Meeting of the Standing Committee and the Bureau of organization, as well as committees on Political Affairs and Security, Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment will be held during the session.

Such issues as strengthening security in the OSCE region, improvement of monitoring the electoral process in the member states of the organization, women's equal participation in decision-making, exchange of experience in the field of water resources, exploitation of new and renewable sources of energy, freedom of movement within the OSCE region, the development of cooperation with Afghanistan, Iran's nuclear program, the situation in Georgia and other issues will be discussed at the events.

Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani parliament Bahar Muradova is expected to meet with the heads of delegations participating in the event.
