BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. The activity of Armenian separatist troops in the territories of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, has been observed in recent days, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan said, Trend reports.
It was noted that strengthening of combat positions on the territory, as well as the preparation of new defense lines, digging trenches was observed.
"In addition, the facts of the deployment of military equipment of various purposes by Armenian separatist troops, in particular air defense and electronic warfare equipment in several settlements of the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, mass weapons of the civilian population, were revealed,” said the ministry.
According to the ministry, firing positions in many cases are created near residential buildings. Despite the fact that the Azerbaijani side, through the Russian peacekeeping contingent, has repeatedly appealed to the Armenian side with a demand to stop these activities, the Armenian separatist troops ignore the calls. In addition, they are preparing for new provocations by conducting intensive combat training activities.
