Israeli and Hebrew Studies Center open at University of Languages

The Israeli and Hebrew Studies Center has opened at the Azerbaijan State University of Languages with assistance from the Israeli embassy in Baku, Trend reports.

The opening of the Center will contribute in proximity of the two nations and states, the Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Artur Lenk, said in his opening remarks. It comes as the second center opened with assistance from the Israeli embassy in Baku following the first set up at the Baku State University, he noted. We are ready to cooperate with any university of Azerbaijan, the diplomat underscored.

Azerbaijan has always supported the position on conduct of balanced policy with the neighboring countries, while Israel is one of the nearest neighbors of Azerbaijan, MP Samed Seyidov, the rector of the University, stated to the ceremony. The university closely cooperates with the universities of Israel in the sphere of exchange of students, teachers of scientific methodology and is interested in further expansion of the existing relationships, the rector stressed. The Israeli embassy in Baku assisted in the equipment and computer and literature supply to the center, according to the Seyidov.
