A monument to ex-Azerbaijani president Heydar Aliyev will open in Tbilisi shortly and its construction continues in accord with schedule. Head of the government of Tbilisi, Temur Kurkhuli, told Trend special correspondent in Georgia that the issue was almost resolved.
A monument to Heydar Aliyev will be erected in the center of Georgian capital, in Mtatzminda-Krtzanisi, where the square was opened.
A resolution on opening of a monument was adopted during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyevs visit to Georgia.
The monument will become a symbol of friendship of the two nations, Kurkhuli stated.
