Azerbaijani Ecology Ministry holds inquiry due to probability of illegal felling of trees in nature reserve

The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry held an inquiry due to probability of illegal felling and transportation of trees in the Zagatala State Nature Reserve. The investigation has been launched based on the e-mail letters and photographs incoming to the Ministry’s e-mail from the traffic accident scene involving a car, allegedly transporting illegally felled trees, the Ministry’s spokesperson Irada Ibrahimova said today.

The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry held an inquiry due to probability of illegal felling and transportation of trees in the Zagatala State Nature Reserve. The investigation has been launched based on the e-mail letters and photographs incoming to the Ministry's e-mail from the traffic accident scene involving a car, allegedly transporting illegally felled trees, the Ministry's spokesperson Irada Ibrahimova said today.

The investigation held by the Ministry's relevant commission revealed that the letter and photos has no relation to this nature reserve.

According to the Zagatala State Nature Reserve, an accident involving "Ural" car took place in the "Ahkimal" area in the wildlife preserve of the same name at the Number 1 of the area115, where the geological exploration was underway.

Due to the incident the Balakan Region Police Department opened a criminal case, the fact is under investigation.
