The Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture & Tourism presented to the Government of Saint-Petersburg with the project of Protocol on Intentions regarding co-operation with culture and tourism. The document was presented by the Azerbaijani Minister of Culture & Tourism, Abulfaz Garayev to the Chairman of the Culture Committee of Saint-Petersburg, Nikolai Burov, who arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the Cultural Days of Saint-Petersburg in Baku.
Azerbaijan is interested in developing co-operation with Saint-Petersburg in the area of culture and tourism, Garayev said. According to the Minister, the Azerbaijani side intends to expand co-operation with regards to museum affairs, library system, culture, tourism, etc.
Opening the cultural Days of Saint-Petersburg in Azerbaijan under the slogan Cultural mission of Saint-Petersburg in Baku is one more step towards bilateral relations, Burov stated. He expressed his readiness to exchange experience and knowledge in all spheres of culture and assist in raising the qualification of the Azerbaijani specialists in Saint-Petersburg.
According to him, a delegation from Saint-Petersburg has arrived in Baku to participate in the Cultural Days in Azerbaijan. The program of the Cultural Days that will last until1 December also includes a photo exhibition Parade Petersburg and a demonstration of moves taken in the film studio Lenfilm. The Cultural Days of Saint-Petersburg are one of the final events within the Russian Year in Azerbaijan. It will be closed on 4-5 December in Baku. A Government delegation of the Russian Federation headed by the Prime Minister, Mikhail Fradkov, will arrive in Baku to participate in the closing ceremony in Azerbaijan.
