Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Javadova / The trial at the Court of Heinous Crimes presided over by Judge Tofik Pashayev of Azerbaijan's former Minister of Economic Development, Farhad Aliyev, his brother Rafik Aliyev, former President of the Azpetrol Group of Companies, as well as seventeen others, continues with testimonies being made from the victims.
At the beginning, Farhad Aliyev's advocate Elton Guliyev made a petition to include the documents regarding assessment of facilities during Aliyev's term as Minister of Economic Development as part of the material to be used in the case. The Judge said the petition would be considered on 24 July.
Later Farhad Aliyev's other advocate Isakhan Ashurov made a petition to include the material of when Aliyev was arrested and questioned on 19 October 2005. The third petition was made by the advocate Yunis Veliyev in which he said that the Prosecutor General's participation in the case as civil claimant is contrary to the legislation and asked that the Ministry of Taxes and State Committee on Management of State Property as civil prosecutors be involved.
