TEHRAN, Iran. Dec.22
Trend:
Iran is seeking to finance housing for suburbs and prevent illegal residents living in slums, Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He went on to note that 'there should be specific plans', as well as resources to tackle the slums problem.
"The country's municipalities should establish cultural, sports facilities, renovate public transport, improve inner-city roads and so on," Mokhber said at the meeting with mayors of 18 Iranian cities.
Meanwhile, Iran's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development plans construction of two million housing units for low-income citizens within a year, as part of a government housing plan, which overall envisions four million residential units to be built in the next four years.
