International banking conference of the CIS member states entitled Increasing Role of National Currencies in Export/Import Operations were held in Kishinev on June 19-21, International Bank of Azerbaijan said.
The conference was organized by the CIS Financial and Banking Council with the support of the CIS Executive Committee and National Bank of Moldova.
The conference was attended by heads of CIS countries' major banks Bank VTB OJSC, Vneshekonombank, Belarusbank, International Bank of Azerbaijan OJSC) and financial organizations and governmental agencies of CIS member states.
The conference program included importance of development of inter-state mechanisms to stimulation settlements in national currencies under crisis conditions, problems and prospects of launching single payment area for retail payments and transfers, necessity of launching regional financial centers.
The event involved IBA representative Elmar Sadikhov (director of the Department of Information Technologies and general director of processing centre Azericard) and IBA-Moscow representative Azer Safarov (advisor to board chairman).
International Bank of Azerbaijan was official sponsor of the conference.
