Kazakhstan is in talks with potential partners from China to establish grain terminal on the Dostik-Alashankow border passage, Daulet Uvashev, Prodkorporatsiya National Company Managing Director for Commercial Issues, said.
"The company is working with potential partners. About 5-6 Chinese companies, both from state and public sector, are considering the possibility to participate in the construction of grain terminal on Dostik-Alashankow," Uvashev said.
According to Uvashev, it is planned to invest in the company on parity basis: 50 to 50 percent.
In accordance with the Kazakh grain company's strategic plans, Prodkorporatsiya planned to realize a project on constructing railway grain s terminal on the border with China in 2011-2013. The key objective is to create and develop infrastructure of exporting Kazakh grains in the direction of China. The grain terminal was expected to place on the Dostik-Alashankow border passage in China. The volume of one-time storage of the terminal is 24,000 tons of grains and the discharge capacity is up to 1 million tons of grain a year.
It is planned to develop feasibility study of the project in 2011 and estate in 2012. The construction of the terminal is to end in 2013.
