Turkish investors play an important role in the development of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan, Parliamentary Social Policy Committee head Hadi Rajabli said during a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Businessmen Association (ATİB).

"Strategic relations are rapidly developing between our countries. Businessmen play a special role in this development. Turkish businessmen have a special role in the development of the business climate in Azerbaijan," Rajabli said.

He said the Parliamentary Social Policy Committee is engaged in legislative activity regulating the relations between employers and employees, as well as their relationship with third parties, including the government.

"We have seen some success in this direction. Additionally, Azerbaijan does not have a law on employer trade unions, which creates certain problems in protecting the rights of entrepreneurs. This year we will develop and adopt such a law," Rajabli said.

During the meeting, ATİB Deputy Chairman Ali Ihsan Genc made proposals on economic and social legislation. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to continue talks between the country's parliamentary representatives and the ATİB on these and other issues.
