Passenger car sales up in Kazakhstan in October

Passenger cars sales grew in Kazakhstan by 14.3 percent in October, nearing to pre-crisis levels, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported referring to consulting company Qncepto.

"A total of 3,917 passenger cars were sold in Kazakhstan in October. This figure exceeds last year's results by 2.1 times, and September results by 14.3 percent," the report said.

Kazakh auto shows showrooms sold 28,167 cars in January to October, 2011.

A total of 38 percent of general market growth in October compared to same index of last year fall to the share of Russian brand Lada and 19 percent to Korean brand Hundai.

Lada increased sales by 37.2 to 1,457 units in October and remained the top-seller brand in Kazakhstan.

Hyundai with 450 sold passenger cars was rated the second in the sales.

UZ-Daewoo with 372 sold cars is the third top-seller.

Other brands bought in Kazakhstan in October are Toyota (314 cars), KIA (264 cars), Nissan (214 cars), Chevrolet (188 cars), Mitsubishi (90 cars), SsangYong (90 cars), ZAZ (86 cars), Volkswagen (63 cars).

Other brands made up 2.25 percent of all passenger car sales.
