Kazakhstan, Astana, April 2 / Trend, D. Mukhtarov /

Kazakhstan is not going to construct grain terminals on the Black Sea coast of Russia and Ukraine, president of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan Nurlan Tleubayev said in Astana on Monday.

"Black and Baltic Seas are not the market of Kazakhstan. Our infrastructure dictates that today our market is Central Asia, Afghanistan and Iran and through China where we can get to the Pacific Ocean," Tleubayev said.

Earlier, Kazakhstan considered purchasing a land plot and construction of a grain terminal on the Black Sea coast.

Kazakhstan is amongst the world's major grain exporters. In 2011 the country had a record harvest of nearly 27 million tons of grain in net weight. Export potential is estimated at 15 million tons.
