Kyrgyz PM Zhantoro Satybaldiyev held today meetings with the IMF Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Koba Gvenetadze, head of ADB mission in Kyrgyzstan Rie Hiraoka and the head of the World Bank in Kyrgyzstan Alexander Kremer,

The parties discussed the socio-economic situation in Kyrgyzstan and the implementation of projects financed by these institutions.

Opening the meeting, the PM thanked the partners for their financial assistance, as well as for the cooperation in the recovery of the country's south.

During the meeting, the prime minister raised the issue of the current economic situation of the country. Reporting on the measures taken to address the budget deficit, the prime minister said that the country needs assistance from international financial institutions under existing programs.

Then the prime minister raised the issue of the continuation of the Taza Suu project to provide rural communities of Kyrgyzstan with drinking water.

The head of the ADB in Kyrgyzstan Rie Hiraoka agreed with need of implementation of such a project. But in the earlier project several violations have been made and the project must start from scratch, using entirely new approaches and new models of rural water supply, and eliminating all risks of repeating the same mistakes.

The discussion then continued around the issue of write-off and restructuring of the external debt of Kyrgyzstan.

"Kyrgyzstan fulfills all its obligations. Nevertheless, there are certain difficulties," Satybaldiyev said, urging partners to assist in this area, due to which donors have promised to study the matter.

At the end of the meeting, the PM proposed increasing the efficiency of the interaction between the government and international financial institutions.
