The currency exchange offices sold Russian ruble at 44.9 billion tenge ($ 1 - 180.87 tenge), euro - only 37.5 billion tenge in Kazakhstan in September, Ranking.kz. analytical service reported.

"The multi-directional demand for the currency is interesting," a statement says. "The sales of the ruble increased by 15.4 percent (6 billion tenge) in September. But euro reduced by 9.5 percent (4 billion tenge) compared to August. As a result, the sales volume of the Russian currency excelled euro by 7.38 billion tenge."

The highest level (7.45 billion tenge) was observed in June 2013," the analysts said.

The ruble sales volumes exceeded euro in 11 regions.

The euro has maintained superiority only in metropolitan areas and the three southern regions of Kazakhstan.
