Inflation hits 0.4 percent in Kazakhstan in Feb.

Inflation hit 0.4 percent in Kazakhstan in Feb., Kazakh Statistics Committee under the Economy Ministry reported March 2.

Inflation since the beginning of the year hit 1 percent.

Food rose in price by 0.2 percent, paid services -1.3 percent, non-food items decreased in price by 0.5 percent in Feb.

In Feb., among food goods, the average price for fresh vegetables increased by 3 percent, pasteurized milk - 1.4 percent, fresh fruits - 1.1 percent, pork meat - 0.9 percent, pasta, tea, alcohol drinks - 0.8 percent, dairy products - 0.7 percent, canned fish - 0.6 percent, rolls and buns - 0.5 percent, curds - 0.4, confectionary - 0.3 percent.

Meanwhile sugar reduced in price by 4 percent, poultry - by 1.9 percent, eggs- by 1.8 percent, potato - 1 percent, semolina - 0.5 percent, first grade wheat flour, oatmeal, lamb, sunflower oil - 0.4 percent, rise, beef - 0.3 percent.

The increase in prices for pharmaceutical products reached 2.3 percent, goods for personal use - 0.5 percent, cloths and footwear - 0.4 percent, detergents and cleaning products - 0.3 percent. Gasoline prices fell by 8.2 percent, diesel fuel - 6.9 percent.

Health care services increased in price by 1.3 percent, pre-school education - 0.9 percent, hotel services - 0.4 percent. Prices for cable television services increased by 47.5 percent. Fares for railway transportation rose by 5.6 percent, air transportation - fell by 1.8 percent.

In the sphere of housing and communal services, tariffs for electricity rose by 6.3 percent, sewerage system services - 1.1 percent, cold water - 1 percent, hot water and housing maintenance - 0.6 percent.
