Today, the situation in the foreign exchange market is stable, Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Daniyar Akishev said during a briefing dedicated to the presentation of the bill "On Currency Regulation and Currency Control" in Astana on Dec.26.
Akishev noted that presently the rate of tenge is formed under the market conditions with the influence of the demand and supply for foreign currency.
Akishev said that in December the tenge rate shows insignificant fluctuations in the range of 332.75 - 335.68 tenge per USD. From early 2017 to Dec.21, the tenge rate remained practically unchanged (weakening by 0.3 percent).
"Within the freely floating exchange rate regime, the tenge rate indicators are influenced by internal and external factors. The external factors primarily include world oil prices and the situation in the countries that are the main trading partners of Kazakhstan, while internal factors include devaluation expectations, changes in domestic rates , the rate of dedollarization of savings, "Akishev said.
Akishev noted that the dynamics of the tenge's exchange rate in 2018 will depend on changes in fundamental factors.
