The construction of the drinking water production plant in Halac district of Turkmenistan’s Lebap province, being built by the Altyn Burgut local private enterprise, is under completion, Trend reports referring to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The complex was built in accordance with the general program for the provision of Turkmenistan’s settlements with clean drinking water.
The design capacity is 30,000 cubic meters of high-quality drinking water per day. A new deposit of fresh water "Halac-II" was registered in Halac district.
Turkmenistan borders Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Afghanistan and uses water resources coming in accordance with agreed quotas from four trans-boundary rivers, namely, Amu Darya, Tejen, Atrek and Murgab.
