By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

The first batch of coagulant – technically purified aluminum sulphate, which was previously being imported – was released in a chemical plant in the city of Turkmenabat, located in the Lebap Region of Turkmenistan, Trend reports referring to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

The production of a reagent for purifying water from hazardous impurities and harmful microorganisms was resumed in tandem with the local economic company Ussat Yardamchi. Due to the investments of Ussat Yardamchi, about 100 tons of aluminum hydroxide was purchased from manufacturers from Russia, China, Italy and Turkey – from which 350 tons of high-quality coagulant was obtained, after having been mixed with sulfuric acid at the plant.

A trial batch of the purifier has already been tested in a number of local enterprises. After complete reconstruction, the capacity of the workshop will make up about 120,000 tons of reagent annually. This will allow for opening about 200 additional workplaces, to expand the production of sulfuric acid (one of the ingredients of the coagulant), as well as to put it up for export. It is prospectively planned to use local raw materials, which can significantly reduce the cost of the reagent.
