Kazakhstan plans to double the production of cars in 2019, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"In 2018, production amounted to 32,000 cars. We expect to produce 60,000 cars in 2019," Anar Makasheva, Vice-President of the Association of Kazakhstan Automobile Business, said at the 4th Kazakhstan International Automobile Forum.

She noted that last year the growth of car production in Kazakhstan amounted to 66 percent, and that the export markets of Kazakhstan are Russia, Belarus and Tajikistan. Buses, cars and trucks are exported there.

Makasheva also said that the growth of the automotive industry in mechanical engineering in 2018 made up 19.2 percent, and that 1.1 billion tenge was invested in the production of vehicles and components.

Vice-President of the Association also spoke about the measures of state support.

"Concessional lending with the support of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan is the most effective program to stimulate demand," she said.

To date, there are several programs: the program of preferential car loans at 4 percent per annum, preferential leasing at 3 percent per annum, as well as separate programs for bus fleet renewal at 7 percent per annum with an initial contribution of 15 percent.
