Exports of goods from Iran’s Kermanshah province increased by 31 percent in terms of value and 4 percent in terms of weight during the first month this Iranian year (starting on March 21, 2019) compared to the same period last year, said Khalil Heydari, director of Kermanshah Customs Administration, Trend reports citing IRNA.
He said that 370,000 tons of products worth $161 million were exported from the customs of the Kermanshah province during this period.
He added that 190,000 tons of goods worth $100 million were exported from the Parviz Khan customs. This is a 53 percent growth in terms of value and 16 percent growth in terms of weight compared to the same month last year, he said.
He noted that 68,700 tons of products worth $33.1 million were exported from the customs of the Sumar border market last month, adding that exports dropped by 34 percent in terms of value and increased by 41 percent in terms of weight compared to the same month last year.
According to Khalil Heydari, 29,700 tons of products worth $10.8 million were exported last month from Sheykh Saleh customs, while exports increased by 100 percent in terms of weight and value compared to the same month of the previous year.
In his words, 50,000 tons of products worth $12.9 million were exported from Khosravi customs. This is a 210 percent increase in terms of value and a 136 percent increase in terms of weight compared to the same month of the previous year.
“In the first month of this Iranian year, 30,500 tons of products worth $3.88 million were exported from the customs of the Shoushmi border market,” he noted. “Compared to the same month of the previous year, the exports increased by 48 percent in terms of value and dropped by 49 percent in terms of weight.”
Heydari went on to say that the main products exported through the customs of Kermanshah province included air conditioners, tomatoes, ice cream, cucumbers, melons, yoghurt, eggplants and watermelons.
Iran's Kermanshah Province has a 371-kilometer border with Iraq. There are six customs and border markets in the province. Almost half of Iran's annual non-oil exports to Iraq pass through this province.
