Iran's Joghatay Ferrochrome Plant to build ferrosilicon production lines

Construction of ferrosilicon production lines will start in a month at the Joghatay Ferrochrome Plant, located in Joghatai County of Iran's northwestern Razavi Khorasan Province, said Head of Joghatay Ferrochrome Plant Mohammad Reza Pirhosseinlou, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to him, each of the two future production lines will have an output of 25,000 tons of ferrosilicon.

Pirhosseinlou added that these production lines are set to be commissioned in two years and will provide 300 people with jobs.

"The products will be used in the iron and steel industries," he said.

According to Pirhosseinlou, the Joghatay Ferrochrome Plant has made a new record by producing 1,916 tons of ferrochrome during the fourth month (June 21-July 22) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), while the production for the thrid month (May 22-June 21) equaled 1,813 tons.

The annual production capacity of the plant is 25,000 tons. The complex produces 12,000 tons of ferrochrome a year.
