Leading Iranian companies produced 47.3 million tons of iron ore concentrate in the last year (from March 21, 2019 through March 20, 2020), Trend reports referring to the website of the Iran Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
According to the report, the production increased by 4 percent compared to the preceding year (from March 21, 2018 through March 21, 2019), when 45.4 million tons of iron ore concentrate were produced.
Gol-E-Gohar Iron Ore Company produced 16.1 million tons of iron ore concentrate, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company – 9.66 million tons, Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Company – 5.26 million tons, Iran Central Iron Ore Company – 4.67 million tons, and Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company - 4.53 million tons.
Opal Persian Sangan Industrial & Mining Company produced over 3.03 million tons of iron ore concentrate, National Industrial and Mining Development Company - 2.47 million tons, Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company – 1.13 million tons, and Jalalabad Iron Ore Complex - 510,000 tons.
Furthermore, five leading mining companies produced over 3.93 million tons of iron ore gravels last year. This figure shows a decrease of 37 percent over the same period last year (6.29 million tons).
Thus, Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company produced 1.96 million tons of iron ore gravels, Iranian Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Complex – 816,000 tons, Iran Central Iron Ore Company - 402,000 tons, Sangan Iron Ore Complex – 247,400 tons, and Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company – 500,000 tons.
As reported, Iran's six leading iron ore pellet manufacturers including Chadormalu, Gol-E-Gohar, Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Companies, Opal Persian Sangan Industrial & Mining Company, Sangan Steel Mining Company and Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company produced over 27.5 million tons of iron ore pellets in the last Iranian year. This is an increase of 2 percent compared to the preceding year (27.4 million tons).
