Entrepreneurs from the UAE, Switzerland, and Afghanistan purchased hydrotreated diesel fuel and aviation kerosene produced at Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries in foreign currency on the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan during last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
In addition, entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan and Turkey bought cotton yarn in foreign currency.
The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $33.7 million.
Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on Turkmenistan's exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UAE, Scotland, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan purchased cotton yarn for a total amount of more than 12 million Turkmen manat ($3.4 million).
In general, 19 transactions were registered on the exchange last week.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
