The great opportunities will be created for industrial entrepreneurs and producers with the implementation of new plans for the Shahid Rajaee Port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), said Saeed Azimi, the Adviser to the Chairman of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), Trend reports citing PMO’s website.
Azimi noted that the construction of industrial towns around the ports is at the center of attention in the world and in the region. For example, such industrial facilities have been established in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and $5 billion has been invested so far. These investments are estimated to be increased to $30 billion.
He added that in this regard, the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization will provide producers and industrial entrepreneurs with cheap fuel in the territory of the Shahid Rajaee port.
The adviser stressed that in addition, entrepreneurs will not pay taxes in connection with the industrial sector, and no customs duties will be imposed on their supplies and equipment.
According to Azimi, there will also be no transportation costs for the cargo, the goods are manufactured at port facilities for export.
“In general, the costs of producers and industrial entrepreneurs will be reduced by 42 percent,” he said.
The official emphasized that taking into account the advantages of the operation of such facilities in the ports, it is expedient to establish manufacturing facilities in the northern and southern ports of Iran.
On December 24, six contracts were signed on the construction of manufacturing and industrial facilities on 2,400 hectares of land in the Shahid Rajaee port. Under the contracts, the public and private sectors will invest 100 trillion rials (about $2.38 billion) and 800 million euros. According to the contracts, a number of industrial products and processing plants will be built.
