The volume of industrial production in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion) in January 2021, having lowered by 3.4 percent compared to 2019, Trend reports on Feb.10 citing the State Statistical Committee.

“At the same time, the growth of industrial production in the non-oil sector during the reporting month amounted to 12.8 percent, while the production in the oil sector declined by 5.4 percent year on year. Some 64.9 percent of the production fell on the mining industry, 29.2 percent - on the processing industry, 5.3 percent - on the production and distribution of electricity, gas, and steam, and 0.6 percent - on the water supply sector, cleaning and recycling of waste,” said the committee.

In the mining sector, oil production declined by 4 percent, while gas production grew by 7.9 percent.

The volume of production and distribution of electricity, gas, and steam increased by 1.3 percent, while in the field of water supply, waste treatment, and recycling, a decline of 2.2 percent was recorded.

In 2020, Azerbaijan’s industrial production decreased by 5 percent (37.05 billion manat or $21.8 billion) year on year.
