Produce in Georgia program supports first enterprise of amino acids, proteins in Transcaucasia

Kompava Georgia, a new Georgian company of amino acids, proteins and other food additives starts working with the assistance of the Produce in Georgia program, Trend reports via Georgian Economy Ministry.

The first enterprise of amino acids, proteins and other food additives in the Transcaucasia was recently opened in Tbilisi.

About 2 million lari ($582,003) was invested in Kompava Georgia. The company plans to export its products to neighboring countries.

“With the help of the Produce in Georgia program, another Georgian production has been launched,” Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said during a visit to Kompava Georgia.

Kompava Georgia produces proteins, amino acids, vitamin complexes and other nutritional supplements. The product is packaged in cans from 300 grams to 5 kg, and the production capacity is 40 tons of food additives per year. Kompava Georgia is financially supported by the agency's industrial component.

The company currently employs 20 people. Kompava Georgia is a franchise of the leading Slovak brand Kompava. The company also uses the property component of the Produce in Georgia program, which involves the transfer of state-owned real estate at a symbolic price to an entrepreneur with certain investment obligations.
