Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the implementation of the project "Sustainable Rural Development", Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction.
For its implementation, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) provided a loan of $200 million and the OPEC Fund for International Development - $75 million. Uzbekistan's contribution to the implementation of the program is $59.95 million.
Moreover, the Representative Office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Uzbekistan will act as a partner of the responsible executive body during the implementation of the project and will allocate a grant in the amount of $3.05 million.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction is the executive body responsible for the timely implementation and coordination of the project.
The project will be implemented in 20 districts of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Navoi, and Khorezm regions. The implementation period is 5 years (2021-2025). The total project budget is $338 million.
