BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. A joint Entrepreneurs Association is expected to be established between Iran and Tajikistan in the near future, Iranian co-chair of the Joint Chamber of Commerce of Iran and Tajikistan Gholam Hossein Roshanak told Trend.
“In this regard, on May 30, 2022, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Tehran between the chairman of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafei and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan Jumakhonzoda Jamshed,” Roshanak said.
The chairman added that within the framework of the association, necessary steps will be taken to develop trade between the two countries, remove barriers to trade, and allow Iranian companies to invest in Tajikistan.
According to Roshanak, the association will involve small and medium-sized companies to participate in joint projects between the two countries. So that it can help strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
In general, the trade turnover between Iran and Tajikistan amounted to 139,000 tons worth more than $131 million for last Iranian year, which is an increase of 453 percent in value and 489 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year.
