BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 10. Generally, over 17,000 tons of olive oil are estimated to be produced in Iran for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), an official of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, Mohammad Mehdi Borumandi said, Trend reports referring to IANA.
The official noted that in this regard, the activity of olive oil processing plants in the country will be increased.
Borumani also added that a total of 8,000-9,000 tons of olive oil were produced in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
According to him, there are 75,000 hectares of olive orchards in Iran. Over the last Iranian year, 109,000 tons of olives were harvested in the country. Meanwhile, the figure is expected to exceed 200,000 tons for the current Iranian year.
