BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. Iran’s production of trucks and trailers increased by 95 percent, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
Within 2 months, 6,065 trucks and trailers were produced in Iran, while the figure stood at 3,114 in the same period last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year alone (April 21 through May 21, 2023), Iran produced 4,215 local trucks and trailers.
This is an increase of 99 percent compared to 2,123 units in the same period of the last Iranian year.
Overall, 34,136 trucks and trailers were manufactured in the country over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
Iran’s domestic trucks and trailers production increased by 150 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In total, 193,437 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers and etc.) were produced in Iran within 2 months.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
