energy transit security resolution proposed by Turkmenistan to be a "notable
result" of the General Assembly session.
"Turkmenistan's energy transit security resolution adopted by a consensus is one of notable results of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly," UN news service said.
Ashgabat is ready to
host an international security conference in 2009 in order to discuss the Resolution on reliable and stable transit of energy and its role in
sustainable development and international cooperation.
President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov offered the final draft of the document in
September 2007. "The world crises - energy, financial, and economic, only
underscored the relevance of the task to ensure reliability and stability of
energy supplies to world markets," UN news service said.
