Turkey's Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) imported almost 40 billion cubic meters of gas from various sources in 2014, compared to 36.1 billion cubic meters in 2013, a message posted on the website of BOTAS said.

Azerbaijan is one of such sources. Turkey imports gas from Azerbaijan via the South Caucasus pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum). Turkey has a contract on purchasing 6.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz gas condensate field per year.

Around 644 million cubic meters of gas accounted for the export operations of BOTAS in 2014, compared to 694 million cubic meters in 2013, according to the message.

Some 40.81 billion cubic meters of gas was sold in Turkey's domestic market in 2014, compared to 37.96 billion cubic meters in 2013.
