Draft proposal on establishment of IAP company sent to all potential partners (Exclusive)

Draft proposal on the establishment of a company for the Ionian Adriatic Pipeline (IAP) that envisages transportation of Azerbaijani gas to South European countries has been sent to all potential partners, Zarko Djuranovic, Director of Energy and Consulting Department at Montenegro Bonus company, told Trend.

Djuranovic noted that the next IAP Project Management Unit’s meeting will most probably be held in September/October.

“We still do not have the exact date, as we are currently discussing the organizational issues and the establishment of the joint IAP company. We will probably have the meeting when we agree on most details,” he said.

Terms of Reference for the Preliminary design for IAP section in Albania and Montenegro was adopted recently and the first kick-off meeting of the project is expected after the holiday season said he project duration is 2 years.

“The official draft proposal on the establishment of IAP company was sent to all potential partners by Plinacro and our replies and comments are expected by August 10,” he noted.

Further, said that the sources of financing for IAP are still not known.

“It is expected that joint IAP company will have this issue high on its agenda and that we will be in position to provide more details when IAP company is up and running,” he said.

IAP is planned to connect in the Albanian city of Fieri to the TAP gas pipeline, which is intended for the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. Through IAP, Azerbaijani gas will be supplied to several countries of Southeastern Europe.

The 516-kilometer pipeline will pass through Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and will end in Croatia. The pipeline will have a flow capacity of five billion cubic meters of gas per year.
