To date, 245,000 tons of oil have been exported through the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline, a source at Azerbaijan's State Oil Company SOCAR told Trend.
The source noted that 80,000 tons were transported in July 2019. About the same amount of oil was transported through the pipeline in July 2018.
In March 2019, SOCAR began scheduled repairs on the Azerbaijani section of the pipeline from Baku to the Shirvanovka point on the Azerbaijani-Russian border. In early July, after the break for repairs, oil pumping through the pipeline was resumed.
According to SOCAR’s Marketing and Economic Operations Department, Azerbaijan plans to pump 1.3 million tons of oil through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in 2019. Azerbaijan has been transporting oil along this route since 1997.
