Around 15.7 billion cubic meters of gas was produced at the East Oil and Gas Production Company of Razavi Khorasani province in northeastern Iran in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), Executive Director of the company Abulhasan Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing official website of the company.
According to Mohammadi, gas production was 102.3 percent of the plan.
Mohammadi added that the volume of gas extracted from the Shourijeh D gas storage increased about 43 percent compared to the preceding year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).
The company is the only natural gas producer in northern and northeastern Iran and plays a key role in gas supply.
The East Oil and Gas Production Company is operating under the Central Oil Fields Company. The company works on Khangiran and Gunbadli gas fields.
About 1.72 billion cubic meters of gas was extracted from the Shourijeh D storage facility last Iranian year. At present, the annual gas storage potential of this reservoir is about 2.4 billion cubic meters. According to the development program of the Iranian Oil Ministry, its capacity can be increased to 4.8 billion cubic meters.
