TEHRAN, Iran, Feb.2

Trend:

Iran is supplying sufficient electricity to big industries and lifted consumption limits, said the Managing Director of Iran Grid Management Company Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The steel and cement industries were the ones that mostly faced with restrictions however limitations have been removed recently as the issue of fuel supply for power plants has been resolved and led to the sustainable power network," he said.

The power consumption of big industrial users such as copper and aluminum industries has increased 13 percent in the current Iranian year (starts March 21, 2021) compared to the last Iranian year.

The installation of new power plants in Iran will increase power production capacity by 6,000 megawatts in summer.

Following the cold weather conditions, Iran's commercial sector and household gas consumption peaked affecting power plant fuel supply and power production.
